Officially Addicted

It's lipstick. Or is it gloss? Maybe lip balm mixed in with both?

Who knows. Who cares? I don't.

I'm obsessed.

Dior Addict Lipstick is basically my new holy grail of lip products. And this is from a girl who does not like lipstick. I'll wear it occasionally, and I love grabbing up limited edition shades like Lancome's Chris & Tell and using them for special occasions. But honestly? I'm just more of a sheer lip gloss girl. I much prefer to have dramatic eye makeup to bright lips (though the occasional rep lip is definitely necessary).

I was browsing through Sephora with a friend the other day and came upon an entire display of these Dior pink lipsticks. Baby pink/peach is my go-to color for...well, basically everything. I just think it's super flattering on everyone.

I grabbed a few different ones, tested them on my hand, and quickly found myself infatuated with number 249 - Diorissime. It's a sheer soft pink/coral with enough pigment to give you a good dose of color, but not enough to be completely opaque. It's lovely and moisturizing and glossy all without being sticky.

Raise your hand if you hate getting your hair stuck in your lip gloss! RIGHT HERE! I DO!

Dior Addict has been reformulated with 25% less wax and I believe it uses a type of gel product to give it that amazing light-reflecting quality. So less waxy and not sticky at all? Basically...it's made of AWESOME.

Also, let's take a quick look at the Dior Addict Be Iconic campaign for this lipstick. It features Kate Moss... probably my least favorite model on the planet.

I don't dig the heroin chic thing. I don't understand the obsession. I don't even consider her particularly pretty. Also, I think her sense of "style" is questionable at best.

This lipstick makes me forget all that because I think she looks amazing in this campaign. Also, I'm not exactly sure if this is the Diorissime on her, but when I put it on it looks extremely similar, so I'm going to guess that it's the same color if not a very similar one. Either way... That's actually what your lips look like with this stuff.

It. Is. Awesome.

Go try it! Right now!

And just for kicks, here are some of the other ads from this campaign - all are equally beautiful. Guess that goes to show what a phenomenal photographer/talented stylist/fabulous makeup artist can do for a person.

Beautiful, right? Must give credit where credit is due. Maybe there's something to this Kate Moss thing after all.

Then again... Maybe not.

P.S. Here are some more gorgeous images from this campaign. I don't know about you, but I want every single thing from all of these photos.

To Dye For

FlynetPictures.com
Hey, remember Lauren Conrad? She of awesome hair and questionable taste in men? The only one on The Hills who had a brain (except for that whole not going to Paris for the summer thing)? Okay, Whitney and Lo seemed to have brains, too, but I've been girl-crushing on Lauren since she went by LC on Laguna Beach and had a dramariffic non-relationship with the illusive Ste-phen!.

Anyway, she's basically managed to get even more fabulous - a style book, a series of novels, a couple clothing lines, a column in Forbes, and a (somewhat) surprisingly insightful website. All in all, pretty impressive for a privileged girl from the golden coast of California who probably could've coasted by on her looks for far longer than any of us would've remembered her name.

This post is not about my girl-crush, though. It's more about the awesomeness that I've discovered on her latest venture - the beauty department. It's mostly a collection of beauty tips and tricks, plus some fun polls and useful tutorials. My absolute favorite thing so far?

Seriously. How can I suddenly sprout a foot of blond hair and then find someone to tie-dye the tips for me?

It can't be that impractical, can it?

Even if it is... I just don't care.

Love it!

And baby you can turn me on...

"No, don't get me wrong, ain't gonna do you no harm,
This bomb's made for lovin' and you can shoot it far,
I'm your main target, come and help me ignite,
Love struck holding you tight..." ~Tom Jones

Yep, that's right, I just quoted the awesometastic "Sex Bomb" by Tom Jones. I couldn't help it. The name of this fragrance by Viktor & Rolf immediately makes me think of this song, and then I'm left with it stuck in my head FOREVER.

I mean, come on... It's called Flowerbomb. I cannot be the only one who's made the connection...

Irregardless, I am completely in love with this perfume.

My other faves include Miss Dior Chérie, Narciso Rodriguez 'For Her', Chanel Chance, Viva La Juicy, and Bond No. 9 Chinatown, so I think this one fits into the mix pretty well.

The description for Flowerbomb is " a floral explosion" and its notes (for those of you who understand these things - cause I certainly have no idea) are tea & bergamot (top), sambac jasmine, orchid, freesia, & rose (middle), and patchouli (base).

Okay, so that's definitely mumbo jumbo to me... Mostly, I just think this stuff is AWESOME! Seriously, I tore open the little sample paper that came in my Lord & Taylor catalog yesterday and it just made me smile. Very few perfumes make me smile... I hate scents that are too strong or too spicy or anything like that and about 95% of the time I recoil from a sample in disgust. Not so with Flowerbomb. Insta-happy all the way.

Surely that's a sign that I must own it, right?

Of course right.

Anybody else a fan?

It's Turkey Lurkey Time!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating today! And if you're not? Well, Happy Thursday!

I hope your turkey is absolutely delish, your stuffing divine, and your pumpkin pie delightful... And may everything else on the table be freakin' fantastic!

In honor of Turkey Day, here's a little something to watch while you're cooking...or after you've eaten...or during the celebratory drinking. Any time you want to see it, really. It will be funny all day, I promise. Maybe even tomorrow!

Have an amazing day, everyone!

Made of AWESOME

There are a few things in life that earn the title 'made of awesome' from me...

These things include NYC pizza, Midnight in Moscow nail polish by OPI, Stitch, Bond No. 9 Perfume - especially Chinatown, Rob Pattinson's hair, the Balenciaga Motorcrycle bag... And now I can add something to the list.

Bobbi Brown's Limited Edition Chrome Palette is made of something even better than awesome - SPARKLES!

No, seriously. Tons and tons and TONS of sparkles and I LOVE it! There's a few lovely matte shades to compliment the shimmers, but the standouts for me are the awesome metallic shades. Storm Cloud and Moonlight Sparkle Eye Shadows practically make the price tag worth it ($75 bucks - yikes!).

I haven't experimented much with the other colors yet, but I have no doubts that they're all super fun. The lip glosses are all very pretty and very flattering - they're pretty neutral so they should work on all skin tones. You also get a pretty decent shadow brush and a mini lip brush with the kit, so when you think about that, plus four glosses and ten shadows, the price tag isn't that bad.

So? Worth the hype? How about the cash? Let me know what you think!
